Re: "Elmer, Who are you to question Charles R. "

Who do I have to be to question fantasy?

Re: "I remember past posts where "Liar Elmer" preceeded your name on almost every post. "

You're really losing it now Gerg. Please show me a post from any 2 different people that contain that line. If you can't we will assume your memory is as bad as your investing instincts. Can you remember why Fuchi called me that? Did you follow his brilliant investment advice and put all your money into Cyrix and AMD? That would make you another AMD "investing genius".

I know you guys believe in reality by concensus but the rest of the world has a different view. Getting back to the main purpose of this thread, investing, isn't it ever a concern to you guys that hope and fantasy isn't enough to make AMD a success? It takes a real product. AMD will post staggering losses for Q3 and likely as far out into the future as the creditors will allow. Considering that AMDolts will see only benchmarks and foils, invest accordingly. Count on AMDolts to support the stock price well into chapter 11.

Gateway Slims Down Managed Desktop Size While Enhancing Management and Service Features

New E-1400 Series Combines Space-Saving Form With Ultra Serviceability, Manageability, Efficiency

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 23, 1999-- Gateway (NYSE:GTW - news) today introduced its next generation manageable desktop system incorporating versatility, enhanced manageability and serviceability features in a sub $1,000 space-saving design. Simply put, the E-1400, with its small and versatile chassis design, offers the same uncompromised performance and efficiencies as larger enterprise desktops while meeting the needs of space-conscious clients in sales/service centers, medical and educational institutions, retail stores, and financial/banking centers.

The E-1400 incorporates a tool-free design that allows the user to simply push a button on each side of the case for easy access. It's configured in a 3-bay Small Form Factor convertible chassis so that the system can be installed as a desktop or tower configuration with identical systemboards. As such, the customer can deploy either configuration across their company without having to requalify each system. The E-1400 also features industry leading cable management, a motherboard that slides out without tools, CD-ROM, floppy disk, and drives mounted on easily accessible drive trays for quick removal. These features combined with enhanced remote manageability ensure IT organizations more efficiency in servicing machines, resulting in greater uptime and more productivity for end users.

''The high-performance E-1400 offers our clients outstanding serviceability and leading management tools in a small form factor with an aggressive price,'' said Keith Karlsen, director of product marketing, Gateway Business. ''In designing the E-1400, we kept in mind the clients needs and desires and incorporated them in a very small, powerful-yet-cost-effective PC. They want PCs that blend into their workspace, not take over their workspace.''

About the E-Series 1400

The E-1400 400 features the latest Intel® Celeron(TM) 400 MHz Processor with 128k cache technology, 64MB SDRAM expandable up to 512MB, 6.8GB SMART II Ultra ATA 66 Hard Drive, 15-inch monitor (13.9-inch viewable area), Integrated Intel 752 graphics with 4MB SDRAM featuring state of the art Dynamic Video Memory Technology, Integrated Intel 10/100 Twisted Pair Ethernet, and 2 PCI slots for expandability. The E-1400 is also qualified to carry the NSTL Hardware Tested year 2000 compliant logo(a), which makes the E-1400 a cost-effective replacement for systems that are not year 2000 compliant. Including Microsoft® Windows® 95 or 98, the system sells for $899. With a 500MHz Celeron Processor the system sells for $999. For maximum reliability and performance, configure either E-1400 system with Microsoft® Windows® NT® workstation 4.0 operating system for just $75 more.

Manageability

The entire E-Series product line, including the E-Series 1400 is DMI 2.0 and Wired for Management 1.1 compliant and contains SMART II hard disk drives. The E-Series line includes Intel's LANDesk® Client Manager software to take advantage of the onboard management ASIC and fully-instrumented hardware. The E-1400's Alert on LAN(TM) 2 technology notifies IT administrators of system faults and also provides options to take remote control and corrective action when needed. Wake-up-On-LAN features allow IT managers to remotely power on the system and perform various functions such as software distribution during off-hours, thereby reducing installation costs.
