better than that moron who started OUT ing people magazine running MSN, imvho

What makes Michael Goff a moron in your vho, eh?

It's fortunate that yours is a vho since you got your very humble opinion across only by getting the facts wrong.

Goff never came close to running MSN. He was hired to start up Sidewalk. He created a very intersting beast and hired some very good people to run the sites, but was soon one of the victims of the Microsoft content curse. He was pushed aside to allow Microsoft's management to make a muddle of the site and eventually sell it to an outfit that can at least make money on exorbitant ticket charges through the site.

I guess the reason your groundless vho irritates me is because it fails to recognize that it's extraordinarily difficult to create a successful magazine. Goff did it once, not something a "moron" is likely to do. He wasn't successful when he tried to repeat the feat under the bizarre shifting winds of Microsoft's content division, but I don't think that makes him the moron.

But beyond that question, is this one: What makes it seem such a wonderful choice for Belluzzo, a guy who has spent his entire career at hardware companies, to come in and run a division that has nothing whatsoever to do with hardware and very little to do with software?
