The lava lamps may indeed be lame, but you clowns who insist on slagging Kernan are missing the boat completely. Is there another CNBC personality who can make you money so consistently? I think not. For crying out loud, I made $5,600 today alone daytrading that IDTC he mentioned. Please, someone show me an instance...a mere vignette, where overrated primadonna Maria Bartiromo ever made viewers a nickel. If you watch Kernan's commentary, you can make money on a daily basis. Bartiromo and Faber take themselves too seriously...they spend half of their airtime telling viewers, "oh this is a story I broke two weeks ago...did I mention I broke this story two weeks ago???...oh, just to remind viewers, I DID break this story..." Geez, give it a rest already! Check your egos at the front door and remember why you are on TV--to inform people on what is moving on the markets. And who are these shut-ins that call in on Maria's call-in buy-sell-hold segments, proclaiming their love for Maria? I mean, she's a cute girl, but for Christ sakes, maybe these people should get out of the house more often. If you passed Maria B. on the street, would you even notice her? I think not. The two most stunning women on CNBC, IMO, are Amanda Grove and Martha MacCallum. And Liz Claman and Kathleen Tanzy are no slouches either. For the life of me, I do not understand why Maria commands such attention. If you think she is a great reporter, think again. Watch Rhonda Schaffler on CNNfn...she does the same thing Maria does...report from the floor of the NYSE. No shouting, no hypesterism, no overactive AOL-glands...just calm, matter-of-fact reporting. Listening to Maria would be okay if your idea of education was sitting in the middle of a sell-session at a bucket shop. And when she does her morning report, I must turn to CNNfn, because I cannot handle her acting like AOL up an eighth is a major event. She is simply the product of a great PR agent, plain and simple. Kernan, on the other hand, provides profitable info, in a funny way. After 10 years in the brokerage biz, I can tell you, Kernan would make the perfect desk partner. Well-informed, keen mind, and most of all, funny as hell. He makes you laugh and gives you the lead to make money at the same time. And if he doesn't make you laugh, well...at least he's making you money. And if he doesn't make you laugh, and you can't make money off of what he says, well, maybe you should go to the local bank and check out the CD rates. Or go listen to Faber beat that dead horse Global Crossing for the umpteenth time. Gary
