Matt; It works both sides just a little at times, it's fast and
don't get off very much before arbs come in and bring it back.
I think it's kinda up to who the floor traders are on any given
day some of them are sharper than others and see the NDX stock
orders in waiting ( before they trade ) so they jump the qqq,
Some days they are fast on it some days not,
for us outsiders catching this is just a matter of luck.
The QQQ does trade some after hours and often it can swing some
as it will trade up or down off the after hour futures.
Jim

I've noticed w/ the SPY that it tends to lead the SPX. (or more closely follow the spoos).

I haven't tracked QQQ for long, but I do have a ticker set to the NDX/20 that I've been peek at more than occasionally for a couple of weeks and it seems to reflect the QQQ ask (or (bid+ask)/2) within tolerance. But this reflects my bias that QQQ is just the vehicle for tracking NDX, so I'll put my limit orders in based on the NDX. I used to split the B/A on SPY and DIA all the time and get good fills, so when I start w/ QQQ, I don't see why I would do it any differently.

I need to watch the NDX100 futures more often, to see how QQQ tracks it, but haven't done it much yet. Anyone else?

Matt, I watch the SP futures or mini in combo with the bids & spread on the QQQ. I find the mini(spfut) will move and "they" will swing the QQQ before the NDX stocks have a chance to react, which makes sense if you asked me.
