A few years back the U.S. copyright law was change to be in-line with international copyright law which maintains that each work created by its author is automatically copyrighted to the original author of the work. No registration of the work is necessary even though I would think it can facilitate the identification of the legitimate author if a dispute arises concerning the work.

I am no lawyer, but this is what I understand it to be. Anyone with more information on this?
