Hi Ian and Jay,

I don't think Alan Greenspan is Foolish enough to raise 1/2 point to start a Bear Market at a time that he may retire soon. He may not be re-elected as Chairman next year. If he causes another Bear market and cause recessions Worldwide --- he will be remembered not for all the good he has done but for all the recessions and Market crashes during his tenure of office.

Read my last post again --- I did Not predict that he is going to raise rates by 1/2 point. (He must be out of his mind if he is going to)

Ian, I think the "exhuberance" remarks were in Dec 1996. I don't recall for sure but the dow was in the low 6000's I think.

Last year the correction got us down to only about 10% above the level where AG made those comments, and it was 2 years later. What a marvelous opportunity it was!
