OMB I am fine. My old body is about shot but I keeep telling you that isn't me, just my present M.O. <<I note that you put brokeness and contriteness into the "negative" side. Think it through, Sam. If a person goes on a rampage, for example, a man going through a divorce, goes to the house, smashes up the furniture, rips up the photo albums, takes a knife and stabs his wife with a viciousness that leaves her almost dead. The children scream, hoot, and hollar. And finally the man leaves the house. 911 is called---the police put up an all points bulletin and the man is found and arrested. In jail, he "comes to his senses." The interrogation process reveals a "broken and contrite" man. He admits his guilt, his wrongness, his sins. The day comes for the court hearing. He stands before the judge and says: "I did wrong, I almost killed my wife, I was out of control. I've sought her forgiveness, the forgiveness of the children." Then he begins to weep. The judge, being a "hard" man sentences him the maximum sentence.>> Which is the law. Hooray for the judge!!! <<I say Sam, if our "Judge" is a "Hard Man"---if God does not execute mercy---we are all in trouble.>> OMB I could write a book on this "mercy" and "forgiveness." God doesn't punish us. We punish ourselves. And God does not interfere with his laws because we are penitent and beg for mercy thru Jesus or any other man. The law is we reap what we sow. Period. The misunderstanding of the Christ as Jesus and reliance on unreliable scriptures is IMHO the reason for the moral depravity that exists in this world of greed and selfishness. OMB I have lived before on this earth and now understand many of this life's woes for old man Sam were because of his sowing in his past two lives. Know this sounds like a man depraved but pal I'm as alert as any old man you know even though the body wanes. Though odds of living grow pretty slim I do not fear the afterlife. My prayers are that my next life will further evolve me toward the goal of living to serve God and not Sam as I have done most of my time.
