Am I the antichrist? Maybe LaMarche thinks so <ROFL!> Over on Yahoo I promised to stop posting, try to get the scientist dudes to come out of hiding, but I just had to capture #666 over here. regarding your comment "giving away most of the company." Well, this is the way I voted...messages.yahoo.com of course the stock promptly ticked down after my trade, that always cracks me up how my timing can often be off by minutes, oh well a few percent off the top for the other MM's. I guess I should not have been surprised at the reception I got when I rang Ariad this morning--but at least they're sensitive about the criticism over financing, and from the numerous post from folks other than me on this thread, I think the criticism is fair. LaMarche was a little defensive, okay fine, maybe I deserved that, I've only been doing this stock thing long enough to lose about 10k in Ariad, let's see what my mood is like in a year when I've got a little more experience, heheh. Clearly I hit a nerve over on Yahoo--maybe the Ariad folks surf the net--could be the morale thing. Hey Ariad kids--I work rotating shifts as a public servant for an organization that is gradually being privatized. The best job I ever had, weather forecasting for the orchards over in Eastern Washington was given away to bunch of retired weather service guys who started a company, ha! I know all about morale problems. They will go away if management does the right thing, lets see in the months ahead. I'd put a year's pay on the folks at Ariad before I'd put in on NOAA, and that gives me the right to be pissed when I see dilution. Of course, my bet on ARIA is just that, a gamble-- whether I am slamming Ariad's financing or expressing how great the science is, either way, I really know very little--they're only impressions I have. I'd be a lot richer if I'd been speculating in internuts, but I chose biotech because it's more interesting...and darts thrown at third tier biotechs will probably be good enough. Let's not forget this money never came out of my pocket, this is mad money, trading money. Folks would do well not to follow my picks, follow Rick and Peter and the others, read my posts for occasional good urls, and entertaining banter. The Mr. Green Genes portfolio started this month needs to cook a year...then let's see if I have the hot hand.techstocks.com Okay...back to Ariad: One of the best things about Ariad is the fact that Genovo is in there with them--with Wilson involved, and he seems to be the leading spokesman for Gene Therapy out there, ARIA is not a bad speculation I think. That said, Martin has the best idea, spread your mad money out among CEGE and TKTX and maybe CHIR as well.
