Michelle Harris, Thank you for your reply. I am a cat and animal lover too. I've had cats and dogs(NO attack dogs), my whole life. I know that there are "Cat haters" and "Dog haters". I have known a few cat haters, and asked them why they feel that way. Every one of them said they were afraid a cat would scratch them.(All women, BTW). When I countered that a dog could bite someone, they would just say "I don't no why, cats just give me the creeps". I don't even bother to ask men the same question. Because their replies are usually very crude and disgusting.
I have 2 dogs, 1 cat and 7 "Grand-cats"
People should realize a person's pet is a loved member of the family.

Thanks for the explanation, C Kahn

Michelle Harris, I suppose that people will now use "Cat Jokes" when they can't think of a better response.
