Bank of Montreal announced earnings today that beat expectations. Combine that with the Fed suggesting that todays hike is all for this year, and that probably explains the increase in TD. Interestingly, both Nesbitt Burns (a piece of crap IMO), and Investor Line (both BOM components) had poor (flat) earnings. This probably explains why TWE did not rise today...There are still some more Canadian Bank earnings to come, so if they are good, we might see further strengthening of TD's share price.

PS: TD bounced off its 200 and 50 day moving averages today. This is a good technical signal. If the other banks come in better than expected, and we get good volume, we might see the current downward trend undergoing a reversal. The 50 day MA has flattened out and is tangent to the longer average. If it breaks down through the 200 day, which seems unlikely, we will no doubt see a downward continuation of the long term price trend....
