Kap, <Can anybody familiar with the motherboard business comment on how much BX/ZX shortages should help the ss7 and Athlon platforms?> Motherboard side is one are I have little visibility on but if Register did not misquote the motherboard makers, we are probably talking about 100s of ku (if not a few millions) of chipset upside for VIA/ALI and other chipset players. How much of that will benefit the processor players (AMD and VIA/Cyrix) is probably a tough thing to call other than saysing that the benefits are likely to be at lower speed grades [I say that because OEMs are likely to use the available Intel motherboard chipsets to their higher profit coprorate systems first(higher MHz)].
