ed...don't know what to make of the siemens/fujitsu merger/kickoff. Personally, I think that, with the exception of Ireland, the pc has miles to go before it rests in Europe and the UK.

Branding is a necessary element in any successful effort. Large or small. I get the sense that Dell (Michael) has been very involved with the message that's going out to the consumer. That doesn't bode well – smacks of micro management to the nth degree. Probably explains why Dell had moved from one agency to another. It also explains a number of other issues that I won't delve into right now. If. And that's a big if the new agency account team can get DELL to listen to them, I think you'll see a lot more of a branding effort. It might not be as visible as others as DELL's direct sales model doesn't lend itself to mainstream media the way other traditional retailers do. JMHO
