AV,

What to make of SGI?

From Bloomberg:

"SGI Shares Tumble After CEO Rick Belluzzo Resigns

Mountain View, California: Silicon Graphics Inc. shares
fell 13 percent after Chairman and Chief Executive Rick Belluzzo resigned, ending his 19-month effort to restore the No. 4 maker of computer workstations to health. SGI fell 1 9/16 to 10 7/8, its lowest since October.......

Just two weeks ago, he unveiled a strategy for improving sales and cutting costs that he said would turn SGI around for good.....

``It's a surprise,' said Randy Befumo, an analyst at Legg
Mason Inc., which owns about 3 million shares of SGI. ``It runs counter to everything he's ever said. He must not have seen a way out of it.'"

Regards,

Knip

AH, perchance to dream of past glories here on Stock Swap.

Prasanna, as I mentioned on valuation grounds it looks great, but financially quite weak, however, just as I had to turn down my FA watch on WFR last week and jump in on the TA, I think that IMPX could be gotten in. Strategically, I would wait for a retrenchment to about 1.875 to 2.125, but it may never turn back (WFR gave us only one opportunity back at $14 after I succumbed). But please do not over commit, this is purely a technical call, visibility of a turnaround is not here yet, and if they turn a profit, their should be ample time to jump back in well before the major move. If they miss the wagon on this semi up cycle, I think they could be dead meat on the next down turn.
