Regardless of what spin some would like to put on the API report here, oil's up in after-market trading. I think that pretty well defines whether it's bullish or bearish.

Did everyone see John Bollinger on CNBC pushing Energy stocks, particularly smaller drillers and producers in the U.S.? I was surprised, since I recall him being bearish on oil a few months ago. The experts are jumping on the bandwagon. He calls Energy the number 2 sector leader in the market and advises sticking with the leaders, since the advances in the market have been narrow. Otherwise, you can be left in the dust as the Dow pushes to new highs.

mmBTU and MMCF I had the same question and here is the response... from Douglas V. Fant

First MMCF measures a standard volume of gas. MMBTU measures the heating value of the gas. Generally the industry assumes that pipeline quality gas (cleaned up and all liquids removed) has about 1,000 MMBTYU per MMCF of gas.

Now in the field where gas is produced an MMCF of gas may have as little as
100MMBTU of heating content (lots of entrained)to as high as 1600 MMBTU (lots of
NGL's entrained in the gas- kaboom city!).
