"Market share tends to accrue to the largest vendors over time. So these second-tier players lose economic power literally every day."

I guess that is as good a definition as I can hope for before buying the book, which I think I will pass on.

I am painfully aware of the insuffiency of the data I have presented to show why I think HOMS is a g'rilla. But me being the stubborn type, I require factual rebuttals before I change my mind. Having received none, I will leave you to discuss Dell without me. btw, I was writing graduate thesis work in 1992 on why Dell would eventually take over Compaq. Other research projects from that bygone age included many papers on why cable will be the telecommunications infrastructure of the future. They laughed at me then, too.
