the rally in the RUT reminds me of the rally in the DAX index...they both look like extended bear market rallies.

btw, the WS firms keep on touting stocks that i have shorted...POS being the latest example. i was thinking a turn had finally come when it sold off late yesterday and today yet another broker came out with a 'strong buy'. i had erroneously assumed that everyone had joined the MU tout-fest already and therefore no-one was left to disallow it's well-deserved plunge to the low teens, but no, SSB still had to get in on the action. apparently DRAM prices have shot up in Taiwan recently and there is talk of tight supplies...i wonder if this is manipulation or if it is for real. why should DRAM supplies be tight? as far as i know there's no shortage of fabrication capacity.
