Would time exist if Man did not perceive it?

Or perhaps humankind (understandably, I resist the continual use of the word "man") can usually only perceive certain dimensions?

I think that this what Terry is attempting to suggest. The ancient Celts believed in an alternate "world" coexisting with the one we normally perceive with a veil so thin between that one could cross it inadvertently and lose a century or more in "our" time--viz. the legends of Avalon.
