MG, Got to say that right now I'm in a vulture mode. Just too many stocks are failing to make it through my TA resistance points. ALL really tried to make it through and failed. SGP got stuck at $55. MRK failed to clear $70. PFE is probably going to have trouble at $39 7/16 to 3/4. DELL hit $47.25 and reversed. MWD has been branded a racist. Even my poor F died at $52. The cyclicals.com valuations are a joke. My favorite joke is IP where the analysts are reporting a projected 100% increase in EPS next year, but Morningstar reports the 5 year projected growth rate at 5%. That said, it is has been a nice TA buy at $50 3/8 and a sale/short ~$55. The FA on GT looks good, but I'd rather get it ~$53. The energy stocks are absurd. I'd rather own a nutz. The consumer staples are obviously going out of business. However, I've said for a long time that KO was a wonderful buy in the $50's and a sale around $70. We both know that PEP is a good prospect at these price levels. I'm convinced that G and PG are junk yard dogs and play toys. In the tech sector, I was amazed at the FA score that DELL received, but previously noted the big R problem. I also like ORCL , but it keeps getting iced at $40. A month ago I put a buy target on IBM at $112. I believe Mr. Niles will help make INTC a short very soon, assuming he hasn't lost all credibility. I've never been able to figure out CSCO or MSFT . The long-term monthly charts of any of the retail stocks will reflect what happens at some point when expectations exceed reality. They can go to sleep for years. We are clearly in the golden age of the internet and telecom. Why does a high PE stock like QWST go buy a turtle, and before doing so, BLS pumps in a billion. However, I felt the same way when WCOM acquired MCI and it certainly, after a period of time, didn't hurt shareholder value. It does amaze me how well BEL has held up in this debacle. I'm certainly advising folks (that want to play the B&H game) to accumulate T at these levels. I think my favorite health care stock is WLA . TM and I discussed it long and hard at it's most recent retreat to $61. Next time, if there is one, I won't hesitate. My least favorite is JNJ , but the folks that be certainly seem to have a fascination with it. We only got two puppies in the service category. TWX is in a category that is simply not subject to my FA (another category that doesn't work is aerospace/defense). I just have no way to judge it. Also, as I've previously noted, DIS defies analysis. I've noted to TM that we should probably get a list of scheduled release dates for its movies, and let that guide our short term investments.
