Lahore's heritage under threat. It was once one of the main cultural centres of the entire South Asia region. The seat of Moghul emperors 400 years ago, Lahore was also more recently a glittering city of the British Raj. To mark the extraordinary history of the city, the Pakistani authorities are planning a month-long festival starting in a few weeks' time.
