Road Runner Chooses Visual Data to Provide Broadband Travel Content - Leading High-Speed Online Service Looks to Next Phase of Broadband Content -
PR Newswire - August 23, 1999 09:10 POMPANO BEACH, Fla., Aug. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Visual Data Corporation (Nasdaq: VDAT), which creates original video content for the Internet, today announced a partnership with Road Runner, one of the nation's leading high-speed online services, to provide Visual Data's broadband video content to Road Runner subscribers. The programming will be located within a new travel channel in the Road Runner service. In addition, Visual Data Corporation will be a preferred provider of travel vignettes to Road Runner. Under the terms of the agreement, Road Runner will promote HotelView(R), as well as Visual Data's other travel programming, to its subscribers through an online advertising campaign. In addition, Road Runner and Visual Data will build a long-term content partnership, looking to supplement additional channels in the future. Visual Data, leveraging Road Runner's broadband platform, will initially offer on-demand video tours of hundreds of hotels and select destinations. Ultimately, the content will expand into an all-encompassing travel area that will also cover attractions and golf courses from around the world. Visual Data is scheduled to launch its programming on Road Runner in October of this year and will be available to Road Runner's more than 320,000 subscribers.
