Hi C M Burns; Great link to the equipment tester. Brings back memories of "unaided self combustion" of printed circuit boards. I've only seen that happen once, but it was not something I will soon forget. (The layout lady reversed the artwork for an electrolytic cap, and we had a prototype catch fire and burn completely. Set off fire alarms and the whole nine yards. The PCB's resins catch fire, it makes an amazing amount of nasty smoke.)

As far as busting stumps, when I was in college, you could still buy dynamite, primacord and blasting caps on an in-state driver's license, though you did have to come up with some sort of excuse for it.
