Great Post, I agree 100%. Someone else other than SNMM should get in alot of trouble.

Jude: I believe (and I will CERTAINLY be corrected if I'm wrong) the point that most on this board are saying is that there SEEMS to be a lot of untoward stuff going on surrounding SNMM. There is a smell there. I think the point most disagree on is exactly from where that smell is coming. Is it Starnet's doing or have they been set up?

Some claim to have information (charged by others as "insider") to prove that it's SNMM who is at fault. They have mounted a very coordinated attack on the company. Has that been successful? Well, if you're looking at actual charges against SNMM principals, no. If you're looking at SNMM stock price, that's a resounding yes!

As with anything, time will tell who is at fault.

The one, and perhaps, only thing we all agree on is that if child pornography is present, then they should ALL hang.

Jude, I can't agree with you more. I, like a lot of people have done extensive research regarding this company. I reread the SEC documents yesterday and came away dumbfounded that this company is in the predicament that it is in except for the excerpt that I posted yesterday. I could be wrong, but I feel that all of this surrounds the grey area in the betting laws that starnet actually alludes to. None of the licensees pays Canada a fee for operation, yet are in operation cutting through Vancouver. The new setup will require tha there is no hop and connections will need to be made directly to antigua. The porn was probably thrown in there in the event that something actually exists and gave the RECMP the right to go in with rams. The difference between this and a drug bust is the compexity of the issues involved. It is not a black and white case in regards to the betting laws so Starnet could probably drag this thing out for quite some time. That is not wise and they probably know that. Right now, the lawyers for Starnet are working closely and fully with the authorities to arrive at a conclusion to this as swiftly as possible. as I have said previously, I expect some charges, but not to the extent that has been predicted. I could be wrong, but despite all of the negative posts, the company is a cash cow and was ripe for government sanctioned slaughter. Read the SEC reports posted on their websites. The last report breaks down in depth how diverse the company is. the only thing in all of this that ticks me off is that they allowed licensees to accept bets from within Canada knowing full well that there may be jurisdictional isues involved. they set their own sites up such that you can't bet from North America unless you have a check sent elsewhere and you sign a statement that to the effect that you know the local laws and that you do not live in NA.

For all of those bettors out there, we were able to bet on lasvegascasinos giving our real names and addresses and are expecting checks for proof. Cryptologic is perhaps going to be in for a surprise.

Lastly, Starnet is trying to play the game as safely as possible. In the sec report they also indicae that they are in the process of updating their systems t verify addresses attached to credit cards to weed out bad cards and liars that try to bet. They plan on offering this system to all companies offering betting (for a fee) in an attempt to further clean up the industry.

In short, I expect charges to be filed, but not to the extent that Starnet is not left with all of the components intact. there will be time and money lost on equipment relocation and setup as well as legal fees and probably fines.

Good luck,

Brian

Interesting thoughts about the raid:

Okay folks after a little more than a week it looks like the smoke is starting to clear just a little. SNMM admits that one of their employees got caught with a few kiddy porn pictures and he was rightfully let go. I don't condone this type of activity at all. But lets face it, how many of your co-workers might have a few dirty pictures on their PC? I'm willing to bet that if the RCMP raided their own offices or looked under their own sheets they would find more than what they found at SNMM offices. Give me a break. RCMP have a been caught doing much worse. Read this: RCMP OFFICER CHARGED with SEXUAL abuse of Young boys!! vcipher.com thank you RKHII). Looks like RCMP should clean their own house before they try and clean others.

Remember folks the RCMP stated that this is a "massive investigation into a major company". You can bet your bottom dollar that the RCMP has every available police officer looking at these pictures real close. It could take weeks or even months to view all these pictures. I sure hope SNMM treats them like any other paying customer and charge them $19.95, per officer, to look at that stuff. With the amount of officers on this case, that alone could bring in millions in revenue to SNMM.

But seriously, the big question, or should I say the $500 million dollar question is, did SNMM present any of these sleazy and illegal kiddy porn pictures on any of their adult sites? Did any of the feds download any kiddy porn pictures from SNMM adult sites? Answer NO. If the RCMP did find anything of a serious consequence it would have surfaced by now and SNMM would be out of business today. Case closed. Go directly to jail, do not pass go and collect $200.

However, it was reported that the game Doom was found on the company's network. Sources close to the investigation say feds are looking through trashcans and junkyards for a receipt to determine if copy was illegal. Officer says investigation could take weeks or months to sort through all the trash and charges are still pending.

It was reported that some of RCMP finest investigative officers were able to place a few bets from Canada on some sports games. To bad it was not one owned by SNMM. SNMM does not accept wagers from Canadian or U.S citizens. It was from a one of SNMM licensees. At least we know from this investigation that winners from SNMM licensees are paid out. Unlike some other casino operations run by the likes of Claude the fraud, who don't pay out. Thank you RCMP for this terrific undercover work. Unfortunately, sources say it took the RCMP 18 months to place a winning wager before they actually one a bet and were able to collect? Next time bet on the Lakers!! Not the Vancouver Grizzlies!!

You know the old saying, "You can't judge a book from its cover". Well, in this case it looks like the cops can't read to well. They were looking into the affairs of SNMM from the outside and not from the inside. The best way to bring down a supposed drug lord is to plant a mole or, an under cover agent to infiltrate the organization and gather evidence. Getting an agent to go work for a drug lord is no easy task, but getting an agent to work as an employee for SNMM, how hard can that be? Come on. How stupid can the RCMP be? Were RCMP techno-geeks to stupid to get hired or does SNMM only hire the best? To put it bluntly it looks like RCMP tech-geeks couldn't tell a bit from a byte and they weren't smart enough get hired and walk through the door so they had to smash it down.

If you ask me this whole investigation has a bad smell to it. Lots of allegations and very little evidence. Why would cops lie to the public about saying they were conducting a joint investigation into SNMM with Antigua government? Makes no sense. It looks like this investigation is being conducted by a bunch of amateurs. Cops can't be this stupid. At least that's what I would like to think. I think there is something else provoking this investigation other than stupid cops. Some other forces other than the RCMP or Claude the fraud conducting a smear campaign. Whomever or whatever sure sees SNMM as a threat. What force can be behind this? What force is working so hard to try and discredit SNMM? Who stands to gain or profit the most by bringing down SNMM? Chances are it's not the cops and it's not Claude the fraud and chances are we haven't seen the last of them either.
