CA, Did you notice that NATO is a military Alliance? So, I suggest that you stretch your statement by a tad: Kosovo might be the Requiem for the hand-in-glove partnership between (Continental) Europe and the US.... It's clear that the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the waning threat of a Soviet invasion of Western Europe have loosened America's ideological grip on Europe. The Europe/US relationship has indeed developed a great deal --from post-WWII buddy-buddy-freedom-fighters to Cold War partners of convenience to post-1989 economic rivals to.... XXIst century ideological foes! There might be some truth in Samuel Huntington's Clash of Civilizations, after all.... Cabbie Gus.... in a brand new stretch limo.... for stretch-minded fares.
