... and if you read the news clip on Bank One today, it states that the reason Bank One's earnings fell short was due to "strong competition in the credit card market and some internal missteps." Could that strong competition be from Capital One? Also, I guess that US Bancorp Piper Jaffray decided to cut its ratings on Capital One and some other major card issuers in sympathy with Bank One's problems.

I think so, too. There have been several of these "guilt by association" dips this year. . . we're due some "halo effect".
