Michael, The thing that I don't like about that article is that they repeat LTO's contention that DLT has had it, that the technology can't be taken any further, but they don't appear to even question why it is that the LTO group can dream up specs for a whole new tape system in a few months and just pop out a viable system approximately 18 months later. I have a question for people: has anyone actually seen an operating LTO system? Has anyone heard of one in beta yet? Or even alpha testing? I have left any sources I once had behind long ago, but would be very interested to hear from someone who has actually seen one of these rumored systems, and can tell us something about them.
