Anyone follow UTDL? :NEWS (Glad you caught that= HRCT) (COMTEX) B: (GE)(ELNK) United Internet Technologies Announces Pact Wi B: (GE)(ELNK) United Internet Technologies Announces Pact With EarthLink, Bundles With NBC LOS ANGELES, Aug 25, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- United Internet Technologies Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of United Leisure Corp., (OTC BB:UTDL) announced today that it has reached an agreement with EarthLink (NASDAQ:ELNK), to bundle EarthLink's Internet access software on an Internet activated CD-ROM that United Internet Technologies has completed for NBC, a division of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE). United Internet Technologies has produced an Internet-activated CD-ROM to guide potential viewers to NBC's fall preview Web site. And to help those without an Internet connection, the CD-ROM will exclusively feature a special offer on EarthLink's award-winning Internet access services. When users first put the Internet-activated CD-ROM in their computer, they have the option of signing up for EarthLink Sprint Internet access free for the first 30 days. "By teaming up with EarthLink, we were able to provide a turn-key package for NBC's fall preview site. By giving people the opportunity to get onto the Internet right off the CD-ROM, we'll bring a bigger audience to the site, and generate interest in NBC's new fall offerings, " said Brian Shuster, president of United Internet Technologies. NBC recently licensed the use of United Internet Technologies's Parallel Addressing Video (PAV) and Digital Integrated Video Overlay (DIVO) technologies. These technologies allow full-motion, broadcast-quality video stored on a CD-ROM to display new and returning "Must See TV" shows, while online at NBC's fall preview Web site. The site's preview clips will be "hosted" by actress Megan Mullally of NBC's "Will and Grace." United Internet Technologies creates proprietary video-enabled Web sites, or enhanced versions of existing Web sites, to be used by licensees and joint ventures to create applications for the entertainment, travel, shopping, corporate and education markets. The company's applications marry the World Wide Web with the user's local computer on CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, or disk drives. The video content appears and can be played full screen or in smaller windows, or can be stopped and started from Web pages. An additional feature allows site operators to place video on top of Web pages, which permits programming whereby full motion video of talent can be placed on an active Web page. United Internet Technologies is also currently in production on an application for World Championship Wrestling, a subsidiary of Turner Broadcasting, a Time Warner Company. WCW licensed the company's technology recently for a video-enhanced Web site, and is scheduled to launch in the fall of this year. United Internet Technologies has several other technologies and applications in development and expects to make additional announcements in the coming months.
