Keep in mind that Juniper M40 is only a "multi-GIGAbit" class router, and is NOT an expandable box, whereas ARANEA starts 3-4 times faster and expands into a multi-TERAbit class product.

The key words in that article were "out there right now".

Also their ASICs are from IBM, which is fine, but it means they are tied to them and have to wait for whenever IBM gets around to producing their NEXT generation ASIC ( probably 12-18 months development timeframe - did they already start?) or switching ASIC vendors to get faster backplane speeds.

Whereas, our much maligned vertical integration allows MRVC to do their own ASIC design, and therefore respond to competition MUCH faster. Did you notice how Aranea originally had a 128Gbps fabric two months ago and now it quickly moved to 200Gbps, so they can squeeze more OC-48 capacity into the box?

MRVC is really sitting in the cat bird seat. Not much if any legacy baggage, cutting edge technology and products coming available, huge markets waiting out there, AND they have the ability to respond quickly to competition, which is slower to respond to THEM.

<<Their search programs could reach 100 million packets per second. >>

Aranea starting point (1 box) can configure to 200 million pps.

I'll have more time to review the article tonight.
