gaz,

Those institutional holding numbers you posted are stale and the top three subsequently showed up as sellers of all or nearly all of the stakes. I don't think we should get too hung up on the shareholder base at this time as it is likely to be a bunch of mo-mo gunslingers (passive indexers aside) who are likely to be out of the stock by the time the filings hit. Given the liquidity in the stock the only thing I would be worried about is if somebody comes in a puts on a 2-3 million share position and they have a reputation as a jittery sort of investor. I would be more concerned with the expiration of lockups given the stock and cash deals Russell has made. For instance, what is the deal with the Authorize.Net transaction and when can those people lighten up/take some money off the table? Those are the types of issues I am thinking about. BTW, the awesome thing about the Paul Allen transaction was that is allowed the top brass to monetize part of their stake and remove, at least temporarily, overhang issues from the stock. Brilliant IMO.

As far as HSAC goes, they only had 5,195 subscribers as of the end of June with their marketing efforts reaching 740,000 homes. I am sure Russ is putting his battle plan together as he gets ready to start moving in the first quarter of '00. Time is of the essence.

BTW HSAC filed their 10-Q on August 13th and I would recommend spending some time with it on Edgar.

Linus Torvalds Transmeta chip is the KEY link, but there is Linux envy at MS, lets get over it, since you all intend to go broadband anyway. The planned sale of MS stock is almost completed, and even if there is an anti-trust break up it will no longer stop anything.

I for one would like to be able to get a Red Hat Linux RHAT quote on Stocksite.com, I made room out of my hundred ticker symbols long ago.

I am,
Truly yours,
