Greg, I was fascinated by Greenberg's latest article. I think Ancor did give great terms to Sun, and it was a good move by a second place FC switch company. The deal got Ancor's stock price up, allowed for a secondary offering and full Nasdaq listing. It will also generate good revenues in the October Quarter.
Brocade has won most of the tier 1 oem's, and those will not be reversed easily. I think HP and EMC are still up for grabs.
My only concern for Ancor would be if Sun used the source code and intellectual property to build their own switch, and dumped Ancor. What other reason would Sun have to want the crown jewels? On the other hand, dumping Ancor as an oem would hurt Sun's investment. For the record, I am quite pleased with my Ancor investments, some of which were made in the 1 dollar range. wj
