Bell South filed paperwork last month that could either allow them to sell off their stake ( unlikely) or purchase more ( more likely) once the merger goes through. Their CEO has stated that he wants to keep the 10% of Qwest, and would entertain purchasing more stock to get it back up to 10% after the merger's dilution.

Don't ask me for specifics, I just remember reading it. Could be on some older SI posts.
