Some thoughts on Internets and others. . . No amazement from me on our Broadbands. . . they are doing just what we thought. . . Here are some outpacers with ties to broadband worth watching: LQID +16 pct ADAP +11 pct HLIT +9 pct GTSG + 9 pct INKT + 6 pct ANTC +6 pct CS + 5 pct VRSN + 5 pct CMGI + 3.5 pct NXTL + 2.5 pct T + 2.5 pct Been away all morning. . . but happy to see HLIT and ADAP taking a leadership role. . . HLIT is up another 10 points. . .making it up 30 from our buy last week. ADAP likes to make its moves all at once. . . this is beyond a double for us here. And LQID is up 77 pct from its bottom at 18 a few weeks ago. . . on news of a version 5.0 of their software. Advertisers are still mixed. . . so are many other internets. . . again, those with broadband strategies and hopes are outperforming those that do not have such strategies. EX: GNET -1; MSPG - 1/8; LCOS - 7/8; E-Commerce: Leaders doing fine . . EBAY, AMZN, both up over 7 and moving well right now. . . But the rest are being ignored. MALL -5/16; BNBN - 3/4; BAMM - 1/4; CDNW -7/16; EGGS + 7/16 This is telling me that the incredible volume we are seeing in these have a higher percentage of fund managers buying. . . .That is significant. I will need to look at this more closely. . . but it appears that big money is back in today. . . and if fund managers picked these stocks today. . . they obligated themselves to continue buying them. We don't want to be in the stocks WE think are winners. . . we want to be in the ones we think are winners AND the fund managers think are winners. Big difference. . . no heroes. What can I say about GRIN? Where did we pick it up? 6? Where is it now? 28? Incredible. . . .all because of its low float and the hype that comes with Pokeman/Canada. This one didn't run until October last year. . . go figure. Rande Is
