Well, thanks to India's "enlightened" leadership and the numerous "educated" folks that bought its arguments, India will now have to brace itself to a gruelling, expensive (for India), low-cost (for Pakistan), low-intensity war with India in Kashmir.

And unlike 1965, the Indian army can no longer cross the border to "teach a lesson" to Pakistan. A nuclear shield now protects Pakistan, and no amount of nuclear superiority is going to swing the balance in India's favor. And co-operation between Pakistan and China, which was probably sporadic in the past, will now be upgraded to the strategic level.

Great! Just great! All the "educated" Indians ought to be oh-so-proud of their "tough-talking, no-nonsense" gummint!
