In an earlier release, Samsung did credit DRAM prices for their strong first-half results.

But WHERE the profits are coming from is really beside the point. The point is

1) Samsung can apparently survive very nicely in a DRAM pricing environment that causes MU pain. So Samsung can afford continue to pressure MU and others indefinitely.

2) Samsung continues to be willing to invest their profits (from whatever source) into DRAM capacity.
