I still do not know ...
You are correct, goldsnow, I wouldn't be at my best if I tried to be politically correct. However this would be much too lofty a goal for one like me, who doesn't know what 'political correct' means (in German, this phrase was introduced in the late 1950s in a washover of the official political language of the GDR (=East Germany)). (Source: Hermann Kant, Die Aula).
Some kind of political correctness (or censor's scissors in our heads) was widely used in Western German language since WWII ended. The term wasn't known to me though until I read the above named novel in 1986. I didn't state that laughter was a national trait of the Germans. I tried to show that being in a carnival club is often the opposite of fun !

I am glad you stated your ideas about distinctive features of Jews and didn't leave me out on a limb.

Did you hear anything of the Bubis drama?

Regards MNI.
