I tend to agree with Dan3 that we will hear something prior to Aug. 31st (from a "reputable" source) laying out the plan for Rambus/PC 133 in a little more detail and with some preliminary rationales based on benchmarks or capabilities or supply, etc. I just don't think the IDF is a place for surprises, so Intel will get the Plan out a little early and get people prepared.

pomp,
is jd the official leaker of the day? he posted those little details earlier...click thru the links...then at the bottom of each page click the arrow in the lower right corner.

Pompsander,

Re: Intel will get the Plan out a little early and get people prepared.

I expect Intel to spin it just right so that the comittment to Rambus on the high end and subsequent migration path is clear to all, and the rationale for openness to PC133 in the interim gap is understood. It may take a "viva la variety" tone for the near term, but put the emphasis on long term need for, and benifits of, rambus. JMO and hope.

Regards,

jack

RE: <I just don't think the IDF is a place for surprises, so Intel will get the Plan out a little early and get people prepared.>

That's what I've been expecting, that they would preannounce all the stuff that's bad for Rambus so that IDF would be free from any Rambus negativity. So I sold last week expecting a drop on the preannouncement and missed the ramp from 82 to 99. That's what I get for trying to out think this stock.
