Dan....actually it can be much more than that, depending on how your asking/answering the question. IE: The bid is what % lower than the ask?....or The ask is what % higher than the bid?

Today the ask (9/16) is 20 % higher than the bid.....yesterday the ask (5/8)was 34% higher than the bid.

Bottom line....when wild swings are dependent on whether the trade was at the bid or ask....nuttin to get worked up about.

PS....spoke to Rich West and Pierre....and feel confident about the remainder of 1999 and into 2000. Ask yourself this....has the business (independent of stock price) improved or deteriorated since Pierre took over. If you feel the latter...then sell. If the former....hold.

PSS.Don't know exactly when the share price will reflect the improvements....but my timeframe is through end of 2000. I've got a hunch (purely a hunch) that the plan is to be acquired...if so, it's most advantageous for a suitor to do so before 2001 since "pooling of interest accounting" will no longer be allowed after 2000. This allows 6 more quarters to put together sequential profitability (operating basis), improve/expand the product lines, expand the marketing channels (more deals/relationships) and get rid of all remaining goodwill/acquisition expense accruals on the balance sheet (expect more non-cash charges). Ask yourself how Pierre's gonna realize any liquidity with shares numbering in the millions and TSSW's average volume of 20k and no nasdaq listing. Its all about the pre 2001 merger mania imho. Expect good news any day now.....they were hoping to have announced by earnings release but no cigar (no details given to me...just encouragement that things are happening).....just keep a keen eye.

PSSS. Now that the antivirus market has consolidated and the price wars are gone....seems like thats a pretty good market now. Maybe TSSW should reconsider its position on an anti-virus product...not much competition now.
