I don't really track the position holds versus day trades; I would have to scratch my head to think up a good way to do it. Right now, I am daytrading more and finding close to 50-50 win-loss on trades, but I am coming out 2-1 ahead in cash terms by limiting losses. So it's a profitable undertaking as long as I stay on my toes.

Another hard to compare element is $$$ involved. I never daytrade more than a third of my total portfolio worth (using margin). Too many apples and oranges to say which is better.

With the market in a summer slump I don't expect my 50% Gains portfolio to do much except survive for now. I am not buying GRIN and NTOP for long-term holds. Haven't even traded 'em much lately.

These mo-mo runners will be great shorts soon.
