I understand about it being something of a crapshoot when you try to pick a mutual fund. And I also understand that the workers probably resent having to assume the risk that the investment can go bad. But the truth is, and I don't mean to offend you with the obviousness of the statement, investments involve risk.

The concept of the employee bearing all or part of the risk that retirement investments can go bad is new, but it's the coming thing.
