I'm trying to use my 486-75 as a Internet gateway/dialer/ip masq machine and it's just barely getting along.

Gerald:
Last I heard, a 486-33 acting as a router was sufficient to handle T1 traffic. I find it interesting that your's is limping! I run RedHat 5.2 on a Pentium 133 as my gateway/dialer/ip masq/web server/email server/ftp server, etc. and it works great! It must be the processor (??)

:)
Justin

See if you can find a redhat version 4.2. I ran my ppp internet gateway with a 486-66 up until a year ago when I bought a dozen ppro boards and chips at auction.
