believe the 3 day time frame is cause that is how long it takes for a stock to technically "settle" after someone first sells it...after an ipo "settles" an your broker can find shares to borrow....then you can get it to short....i have found that not all brokers know this an you have to be forceful sometimes to make them look for you......redwood
