DARBES, this is the most active thread imaginable. All that activity for a stock that has not budged significantly during the past decade. Whoever posts here speaks to a VERY limited audience.

There are thousands and thousands of stocks to pick from. Why post here? Heck ... Paul and Elmer practically own this thread and the only reason post here is that I am so friging old that I bought some AMD shares "way back when".

Granted, the Athlon is the best CPU chip on Earth. But since I can't buy it and I have more "hardware" funds available than most, who gives a hoot? Forget "ASP"s because at maturity Intel was making 386 chips for ~$8. It is all about "cost of production" and marketing budgets.

Someone ... anyone ... please write when you see the AMD Athlon advertised on TV channels 2, 4 or 7 (national networks on the left coast). Until then, the market will belong to Intel.

Look at me! I did it! My name is Craig! See ... lookie there ... "Craig" is in print. Shucks. I'll bet the next guy will be named "Bob" or "Jim" or even "LuckyTilIMetUpWithAMD".

More likely, it will be "Paul" or "Elmer" with a terse commentary about all this. I would take it all in stride except that I don't know that they owned a single share when I bought my first AMD share ... nor if they know what is happening now. One thing for sure, they will post their thoughts and in HUGE volumes, regardless.
