Robert <Why think about October??> Cause I will be out of the picture till then you dummy :)))))

You have pretty much lined up the neighborhoods. Lanikai is ok but it depends on your lifestyle. Kahala is medium upscale and a good bet -- dry and close to lots of things. Windward is pretty but can be very, very wet. 90% of the houses here are crap from a construction standpoint. Are you really thinking of buying?

Robert, many folks are now complacent re Y2K. They are sick of hearing about it. But many co's will have troubles. Most state govt's are not yet compliant. But they say their critical systems are. Do you believe that?

All the power co's say they're all set, but I work in the bus and I am skeptical. It is now a "me-too" scenario. And the three grids are another matter.

Many other countries will have major problems, including Venezuela, a major oil producer. We could have a severe recession here in the US. And then again, maybe not. Invest on!

Victor

Robert:
I was in the St Louis Heights part of Oahu just North and East of Diamond Head. The housing prices you are quoting are considerably higher than they were back then. That was the year 1956 when Hawaii was a territory and the Royal Hawaiian was the hotel on Waikiki. And Humphrey Bogart was sunning himself on the beach in front of it.
