Dan, Re: Asus mobo turnaround.
That is what they call the law of unintended consequences. Whack-a-mole here and one pops up over there.
With working AMD mobos to use as timing benches the via and other chipsets will be tested and into volume production very quickly. VIA has been quietly working away for some time and has probably gone through enough iterations to start of an initial production test run now. ANy body know?
In addition the shortage of BX/ZX chipsets will stall the incipient passives shortage and there will be all the parts needed for Athlon mobos.

Dandy3 - Re: " Do you think that is why Asus reversed itself and announced that they'll be shipping volume by mid September? "

Jim McMannis formally stated that Intel applied PRESSURE to ASUS and forced them NOT TO SUPPORT the ATHLON.

Your claim makes Jim McMannis a liar.

Are you sure you want Jim McMannis to be a liar ?
