Len:

The idea of Anthony opening his own, free thread is a good one. Or at another site such as Suite 101 which needs the help.

The problem with switching over is that, to date, SI has the best group of posters. However, we have all noted the proportion of quality to non-quality posts diminishing. This is sad.

Anthony's termination will further diminish the value of SI, continuing a long slow painful process of death that began in September 1998.

There was a time I would happily have paid SI $100 per month. No longer. Anthony now gets that money, and then some.

As value diminishes, so will the number of SI members. The quality of membership will decline before the number does. Gnet paid what, 1,000,000 shares for SI - another acquisition/merger gone bad, I'm afraid. I've witnessed scores of them first hand.

It reminds me of that song about New York City dying, can't quite remember it, "I hear that an old friend is dying".
