Someone (sorry, but I don't remember who) posted in the last couple of days that their son was disappointed that a CDMA-based handset received e-mail but could not send it. We wondered if that was a limitation of CDMA.

Apparently it is. "CDMA network operators and infrastructure vendors are focused primarily Data services rather than the Short Message Service. CDMA networks support receiving short text messages, but not sending them. " For the full report, dataonsms.com

It's a long report. Go about two-thirds or more of the way down and look for CDMA.
