Greetings C.K.:

Just noticed your post about Microsoft 'email hoax'. Interesting that Microsoft should give it that label. It looked to me like a well-meaning person who thought there was an easy solution to making Win 95, 98 and NT Y2K compliant.

Notice the language in the Microsoft reply. "Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT are compliant assuming all recommended actions specified in the respective compliance documents have been taken. "

Why don't they just say, All Of This Software Will Have to Be Patched. Because it will.

What is it that Big Daddy says in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Something about smelling the smell of mendacity.

Well, maybe mendacity with a little obsfucation thrown in.

Christine

Coleman echoed that Japanese institutions are liquidating losing positions in Europe and the U.S. and believes that as Y2K-related fears take hold, more underwater positions overseas will be closed out.

"We're in the thick of position-squaring activity," Coleman said.<<<
