2 more Earnings Plays: Earnings Plays for All Seasons" ADIC, INTU fared quite 'in line' with the high flyers today while MDT and RSC were up 3.3% and 5.5% percent today more like a "Save for a Rainy Day" kind of Earnings Play. That is, you will probably prefer a high flyer on a rally day than stay with MDT. On the other hand I'd rather hold MDT longer term and RSC as well, after a pullback.

1)ADIC +13.3% today triggered last Friday at about 20 1/2 to close today at 24. A very nice gain without any unusual volatility, intraday price spikes, or whipsaws. A classic earnings play in every sense of the word

2) INTU +5.29% here was yet a fourth variety. This one gave a few points in anticipation a week ago, fizzled slowly until coming to a complete halt yesterday, enough to trigger a sell. Today INTU surged more than 5%, easily with no gap up. So here you had early anticipation,a fizzle and then another spurt of anticipation that will most likely continue. Two possible trading opportunities for INTU make it none the less profitable.

4 varieties.. in a week with few companies that reported. The month is not yet over, there are still at least one that should be another winner coming up.. You did not have to hold any one of them before earnings.

The fifth: Remember CMED gave some nice anticipation until the worst happened (that occurs for some reason with stocks in this sector more often) IT was DOWNGRADED on valuation after beating the street. So be wary of an overextended chart pattern before deciding to hold through earnings.

Jenna, what are your favorites for ecommerce internets stocks that will do well this year? I believe that the good ones will go up earlier in the season. . . maybe Sept-Oct. I read a couple articles that picked AMZN, PCLN, EBAY, ETYS and BKS. What are your picks for first tier and second tier Christmas internuts?
