Fancy writing is not the point, because ornamentation is not the point... The problem is one of finding apt terms to explain through what is known what is unknown, either through analogy, or through synthesizing pre- existing ideas. Thus, to one who has not even seen a picture of an elephant: It is a huge animal with a nose like a large snake and ears like leathery flags. The males have tusks, which are made out of ivory, like the keys on a piano, but massive, and in the shape of slightly curved cones, portruding from their mouths. Their legs are like tree trunks, and they are fat, not sleek. Their skin is like a kind of tree bark, only leathery....Does that clarify the problem?
