Blessed be the Peacemaker.... For he can be Flamed by both sides.... First and foremost...Solon, if you ever write a book, I want a signed copy. Secondly....there are degrees of comfort on a personal level that absolutely cannot be assumed in any non-personal (ie internet friends). It is more a degree of regional influences than any personal fault. Solon and I are a little more 'rural' than most on SI and, perhaps, a little faster to friendship than somewhat more urban, or urbane, posters of SI. It comes from being able to 'sense' good people....and we are not wired to go defensive without overt threat. Sometimes, we fail to realize the threat that the more urban people have to deal with on a daily basis. Thirdly...a delicate area. Sexuality. Very delicate matter and I will sidestep that matter with a comment....The more urban have to deal with the question, "Am I dealing witha nut?" on a more frequent basis than denizen of the wind-swept plains. Fourthly(forthly)...I have met some of the people on this thread. Others I have talked to on the phone and exchange pictures and cards. I would hope to meet the regulars at some time in the future but that is, most likely, not the way of the 'web'. Any regular of the 'Flame Thread' can have my address and phone number via PM.
