Gordon Wednesday October 6, 11:13 am Eastern Time Company Press Release TVI Corporation Announces Receipt of Patent On Its Shelter Frame GLENN DALE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 6, 1999--TVI Corporation announced Wednesday that it had been issued Patent No. 5,943,837 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The patent grants 14 claims covering TVI's node and scissor beam arrangement for constructing its articulating soft shelter frame.. Allen Bender, president of the company, noted that the patented frame technology is used in all of TVI's articulating frame shelters. He also noted that it was corporate policy to seek patent protection for any and all product innovations, and to vigorously protect its patents. The company has submitted a final patent application to the Patent Office for its collapsible inverted ``V' sign frame. The sign frame enables the fabrication of highly portable display signs which can be covered with a variety of changeable fabric posters. In other news, the company reported that it had received a significant order for shelters and signage from a national organization. The products will have both functional and promotional purposes. Total value of the contract is about $300 thousand. The client has asked that no details of the project be released at this time. Mr. Bender reported that the company's thermal product business remains strong. He noted also that interest in the company's emergency services product line also continues at a high level. The company's sale of its minority interest in the Internet Service Provider in Las Vegas is still pending. The company believes that the sale will eventually be completed.
